Article: Engaging with Community- and Faith-Based Organizations in Public Health Emergencies

Dr. Scott Santibanez, Associate Director for Science for CDC’s Division in Preparedness and Emerging Infections, recently co-authored a new article, CDC Engagement with Community and Faith-Based Organizations in Public Health Emergencies, which discusses examples from the H1N1, Ebola and Zika responses. Findings include making these partnerships a standard part of any response effort, continuing to develop the science around integrating partners into preparedness and response, and cultivating these relationships in advance of a crisis event.
