Highlights: The Alliance for Health Reform hosted a congressional briefing on “Public Health Preparedness: Are We Ready for Disaster?” Panelists included, Georges Benjamin (American Public Health Association), Ali Khan (CDC), and Jack Herrmann. Jack highlighted major disasters since 9/11 and the role preparedness played in affecting the response to those disasters. He also discussed the LHD role in preparedness and explained how budget cuts have affected local preparedness efforts. View the recording.
