The Preparedness Planning, Outcomes, and Measures (PPOM) workgroup held its monthly call on September 23. During the call, Rachel Schulman gave a short presentation on the Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) toolkit. The toolkit was designed to provide resources and tools to prepare staff at local health departments and public health regions to respond to emergencies and to protect the public’s health through a competency-based training and recognition program. Throughout the work plan year, PPOM members will contribute to the PPHR toolkit by vetting and adding resources. During the call, the workgroup discussed potential ideas for a NACCHO policy statement on administrative preparedness, as well as ideas for outside speakers at future meetings. Sarah Sisco provided an update from ASTHO’s Performance Evaluation and Improvement Work Group and the call closed out with updates from NACCHO, which included information on the development of a preparedness survey. The next call is scheduled for October 28.
