The Preparedness Planning, Outcomes, and Measures (PPOM) workgroup held its monthly call on August 26. During the call, Nicole Dunifon discussed the 2014-2015 work plan and members provided feedback. The final work plan will be submitted to NACCHO membership on September 12. Rachel Shulman provided a brief update on the Resource Portfolio Project on the CDC Public Health Preparedness Capabilities. The portfolio was designed to address the most pressing challenges and resource needs for LHDs, as identified by local public health practitioners. PPOM Chair, Phred Pilkington, discussed a survey he is conducting to measure the impact of value-based decision making on public health preparedness. Before finalizing the survey, workgroup members we able to provide feedback. The call closed out with updates from NACCHO, which included model practices and the abstract submission deadline the 2015 Preparedness Summit. The next call is scheduled for September 23.
