The Preparedness Policy Advisory Group (PPAG) held its monthly call on September 9. The workgroup welcomed the following new member to the group, Michael Elieff, Director of Public Health Preparedness from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. During the call, Anna Hoover from the University of Kentucky, provided an informational update on the National Health Security Preparedness Index (NHSPI). This update included proposed changes to the 2015-2016 NHSPI, as well updates to the methods and measures. In addition, Rachel Schulman, Senior Program Analyst at NACCHO provided an update on Project Public Health Ready (PHHR). This presentation looked at state supported models, as well as an edibility expansion for the program. Other discussions included the topic of concurrence, NACCHO’s Roadmap to Ready, Preparedness Month, the 2016 Preparedness Summit, and the ASPR’s National Health Security Strategy (NHSS) awards. The next PPAG call will take place on October 14.
