The Risk Communications and Information Sharing Workgroup held its monthly call on Sept. 12 and met in person at the NPHIC Symposium in Chicago on Sept. 22. During the call, the workgroup finalized deliverables for its work plan. NACCHO staff asked for recommendations for fall recruitment for the workgroup. During the in-person meeting, the workgroup identified topics and potential speakers for abstracts for the 2014 Preparedness Summit on the subjects of social media use during emergencies and reaching vulnerable populations through risk communication. Members of the group also provided feedback to the CDC on the Crisis Emergency Risk Communications manual.
