This month, NACCHO’s Public Health Law Workgroup held a joint workgroup meeting with the Association of State and Territorial Health Official’s (ASTHO) Public Health Law Workgroup. NACCHO and ASTHO members from across the country came together for a discussion of issues relevant to the practice of public health law at both the state and local levels. Topics discussed included the 2014 Public Health Law Conference, immunization data sharing between jurisdictions, paramedics as preventive healthcare providers, and legal authority to expand scope of practice for medical practitioners during disaster.
