During the month of March, NACCHO staff worked to organize the PPHR Recognition Reception that is being held in conjunction with the 2015 Preparedness Summit in Atlanta, Georgia. Staff have planned and organized a PPHR learning session that will also be taking place at the Preparedness Summit where state leads will share how statewide implementation of PPHR has improved local and state public health preparedness.
Staff worked with the Florida Department of Health in Duval County to develop and post a story from the field that demonstrates how the PPHR recognition process made the agency better able to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters in their community. NACCHO staff continue to provide technical assistance to PPHR fall 2014 resubmission applications as well as fall 2015 applicants. Also in March, NACCHO staff held a quarterly check-in call with the PPHR state leads.
