During the month of June, NACCHO staff held final review calls to determine the recognition status of PPHR resubmission applications from the fall 2016 review cycle. Twelve agencies achieved full recognition status and were sent their recognition materials. Also during the month of June, PPHR Reviewer Recruitment opened for NACCHO’s fall 2017 review of local health department applications. The recruitment period began on June 12 and will conclude on July 12. Additionally, staff continue to provide technical assistance to fall 2017 applicants.
Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) is a criteria-based training and recognition program that assesses local health department (LHD) capacity and capability to plan for, respond to, and recover from public health emergencies. PPHR aims to protect the public’s health and strengthen the public health infrastructure by equipping local health departments with sustainable tools to plan, train, and exercise using a continuous quality improvement model.
