Preparedness Planning, Outcomes, and Measurement Workgroup May Report

The Preparedness Planning, Outcomes, and Measures (PPOM) workgroup held its monthly call on May 27. Erin Burdette updated the group on the first policy statement sub-committee call, which took place May 22. The sub-committee was formed to focus on policy statements that are assigned to the PPOM workgroup. There are currently five policy statements being worked on, with two of the statements slated for NACCHO board review in July. Rachel Schulman provided a brief update on the proposed Project Public Health Ready criteria revisions that are recommended for this year, which will be minor. A more comprehensive revision will be completed in the next project year. Resham Patel discussed NACCHO’s resource portfolio project on the CDC preparedness capabilities and the two webcasts that are currently in production for capability 1 and capabilities 8 & 9. The group was also updated on recent requests for input, which included the National Health Security Strategy strategic objective one webinar and pilot testing a preparedness survey. The call closed out with brainstorming a list of items for the PPOM workgroup to focus on as part of the 2014-2015 project year work plan.
