Highlights: The National Conference on Health Communications, Marketing and Media brought together public health communications professionals to explore new and existing trends in health communications. Plenary sessions focused on the future and what to expect for health communications in 2014. NACCHO staff learned useful tips for powerful storytelling, the use of mobile technology, and effective communications messages, among other session topics. NACCHO staff also enjoyed the informative poster sessions which highlighted new research on storytelling, mHealth, and social media, and they developed relationships with some of the presenters to engage in further dialogue about the impact of their research on local health departments.
