Incident Management Workgroup March Report

The Incident Management Workgroup held its monthly conference call on March 24. The group voted to approve a NACCHO policy statement, “Local Workforce Development and Training in Emergency Preparedness,” to move forward towards approval by the NACCHO board. The workgroup also debriefed on their NACCHO model practice reviews, discussing the different applications that were submitted and the feedback and scores they provided. The group also heard an update on developments from National Emergency Management Association’s Emergency Management Assistance Compact Advisory Group.

Workgroup members also continued to work on a tabletop exercise to be conducted as a learning session at the 2014 Preparedness Summit. In place of April’s workgroup call, workgroup members have been asked to attend and participate in a webinar on the recent chemical spill in West Virginia.
