The Incident Management Workgroup held two calls in the month of June. The first, held on June 2, included an update on the development of Emergency Management Assistance Compact mission ready packages for public health to be deployed and a discussion of local public health’s priorities related to homeland security. The workgroup also reviewed changes to a policy statement on workforce development for local public health preparedness. The second call, held on June 23, included further discussion of public health mission ready packages, including the workgroup’s role in reviewing drafts of the packages. Patrick Buttron from San Diego Emergency Medical Services also presented on his experience responding to wildfires, and the group provided feedback to NACCHO on a draft of a tabletop exercise on radiation sheltering.
