Webinar: After the Medical Surge: Promoting Resilience and Identifying Risk Factors for the Development of Traumatic Stress

Hosted by the Association of Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Professionals, this 1-hour lecture is designed to discuss psychological after-effects for children, adolescents, and their families associated with experiencing a traumatic event.  Learning objectives are as follows:

  • Define psychological trauma
  • Recall best practices for promoting resiliency and supporting families after a traumatic event including a medical surge event
  • Understand the impact of medical trauma for pediatric populations
  • Describe risk factors for the development of acute stress disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Identify evidence-based resources and organizations for additional learning and family support
