CDC Seeking Health Department Resources on E-Cigarette and Vaping Use

CDC is seeking out resources developed by state and local health departments to educate communities (i.e., young adults and/or parents/caregivers) about the signs, symptoms, and behaviors associated with e-cigarette, or vaping, product use associated lung injury (EVALI).

If your health department has developed such resources and is willing to share those materials with others through CDC’s weekly partner update and the CDC Lung Injury website, please email

CDC has received the following resources thus far and looks forward to being able to add more to support state and local responses to EVALI:

  • Iowa shared an informational booklet, “Clearing the Air: the truth about vaping,” and a toolkit for parents and teachers that focuses on vaping.
  • New Jersey shared links to their webpages:
    • – an interactive mobile app/webpage that uses bold graphics and clear language to inform youth about the dangers of vaping/nicotine.
    • (has a Spanish translation option) – a New Jersey Department of Health webpage that provides parents, teachers, coaches, public health and healthcare providers with the most up-to-date information about the dangers of e-cigarettes/vaping.
